Valentine’s day has never been a big deal. Sometimes I have a date, sometimes I don’t and sometimes I want to kill an ex boyfriend. In fact, I don’t even remember how I spent last year. Or the year before that. So, I didn’t think this year would be any different. Except that I will get to see One Republic. Other than that, nothing special. So imagine my surprise when I got to work and this was waiting for me in the office

And then 10 minutes later, he delivered my favorite breakfast .

And the amazing thing was that he remembered and cared enough to surprise me with flowers even after we got married. In fact, he actually become nicer, more patient, more loving, more caring, more understanding AFTER we were married. Had I known this, I would have married him when we were 13, thus saving myself from all the trouble and heartache :-p

I realized that in the 10 months we’ve been married, we’ve had more ridiculousness, more laughter, more giggles than the whole 14 years combined. And I’ve had to edit out all the heartache and the disappointments and tears. To make room for the new memories and for the loveliness that is my husband.

And so we proceeded to our usual busy workday but managed to squeze in a heart shaped sushi lunch.

Nice place, Sushi Counter. Even if I still think Yo Sushi has the better sushi.

And before I knew it, my dead-brain-cell-inducing-workday ended and we were off to the Dubai Jazz Festival for the concert. Presenting… One Republic!

Oops. Wrong picture.

Let me try that again.

It was cold. But it was awesome. Made more awesome by our threesome. Because why spend hearts day with one awesome guy when I can spend it with 2 awesome guys

At the end of the day, valentine’s day isn’t just for lovers. It’s also a great time to acknowledge the special people in our lives. Those people that we care about. Those that we call family. Sometimes it’s the family you’re born into, and sometimes it’s the one you make for yourself.

Happy Valentine’s day everyone!!!

Sometimes there’s airplanes I can’ t jump out
Sometimes there’s bullshit that don’t work now
We are God of stories, but please tell me
What there is to complain about?
When you’re happy like a fool, let it take you over
When everything is out you gotta take it in

Oh, this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life
